The Association, one of the first and finest organizations of its kind in the U.S., was first conceived in 1968 at the Bay House of Cap’t. George W. Combs, Sr., in Seaford, New York.

The official founding of the Association was in 1971. Our first display was held that year at the National Decoy Show in Babylon, New York.

Since its founding, our organization has promoted interest in the craft of decoy making, the collecting of decoys, and have furthered interest in the history of the Long Island decoy tradition which dates back to the first Indian communities.
